Monarch: Legacy of Monsters<\/a> season 2’s new trailer reveals a new kaiju villain in the form of Titan X as the Monsterverse’s Apple TV spinoff continues. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2<\/a> picks up where season 1 left off, with the core heroes on Skull Island, where Apex Cybernetics has set up a research facility for unknown reasons.<\/p>\n

Now, Apple TV<\/a> has released a full trailer for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2, unveiling Titan X, a new villainous Titan. The trailer reveals that Titan X is a bigger, more dangerous monster than either Kong or Godzilla. The rifts allowing access to the Hollow Earth seemingly allowed it to break free. Now, it’s heading for Skull Island.<\/p>\n

The trailer teases Kurt Russell’s Lee Shaw is the first to encounter the creature, which is also depicted on cave paintings discovered by a younger Bill Randa in the past. The aquatic, tentacled beast can be seen generating a massive storm cloud with its presence, swimming toward Skull Island as the core characters prepare for its approaching attack.<\/p>\n

Monarch season 1 ended<\/a> with Cate, May, and Keiko arriving on Skull Island through the rift in the Hollow Earth, getting back to the surface two years after their initial disappearance due to the way time works in the alternate dimension. Kentaro and Tim are now working with Apex, who are destined to create Mechagodzilla in Godzilla vs. Kong.<\/p>\n

However, the newest trailer reveals they’re also involved in combating a new kaiju that poses a threat to the world. Based on the dialogue in the trailer, it seems this Titan X’s escape is a result of Monarch’s research into the Hollow Earth. The new monster seemingly poses a major threat not just to the characters in Monarch<\/a>, but to the entire world.<\/p>\n

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is the first in a planned expansion of the Monsterverse on streaming. A spinoff focusing on young Lee Shaw, played by Wyatt Russell, has been confirmed, alongside plans for multiple other TV shows set in the same world. The upcoming Godzilla x Kong: Supernova<\/a> will continue the adventures on the big screen in 2027.<\/p>\n

As for the latest Monarch: Legacy of Monsters trailer, it appears Kong, Apex, the lead heroes will be facing a massive threat unlike anything the Monsterverse has delivered thus far. It’s unknown if this means Kong and Godzilla will be coming together again, or if the ape-like Titan will be facing this threat on his own.<\/p>\n
