Past cast members Barbie Ferreira, Storm Reid, Javon \u201cWanna\u201d Walton and Austin Abrams will not be back for the new season. Angus Cloud, who broke out in his role as Fezco,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2023\/film\/obituaries-people-news\/angus-cloud-dead-1235684089\/\">died at age 25<\/a>\u00a0in July 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSeason 2 ended with Lexi\u2019s (Apatow) play that was inspired by the lives of her so-called friends and classmates, Nate (Elordi) getting his dad Cal (Dane) arrested after finding a flashdrive with his illegal sexual encounters and Jules (Schafter) and Rue (Zendaya) seemingly rekindling their romance as Rue stays sober. Season 3 takes place years later and follow the characters after they are out of high school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe new season jumps ahead five years, which sees Cassie and Nate married and living in the suburbs and Rue living in Mexico and working off her debt to drug dealer Laurie. Levinson previously revealed that Jules is in art school and Maddy is working at a talent agency in Hollywood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tNewcomers to the season include Sharon Stone, Rosal\u00eda, Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth and Marshawn Lynch.
