{"id":245120,"date":"2026-01-14T23:58:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T23:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/245120\/"},"modified":"2026-01-14T23:58:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T23:58:09","slug":"forget-robert-sanchez-48-touch-chelsea-player-had-his-worst-game-this-season-against-arsenal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/245120\/","title":{"rendered":"Forget Robert Sanchez, 48-touch Chelsea player had his worst game this season against Arsenal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Chelsea head to the Emirates with a one-goal deficit after a 3-2 loss to Arsenal in their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg. <\/p>\n<p>The Blues looked extremely shaky early on, constantly losing possession trying to play out from the back and letting Arsenal get into advanced positions with ease. <\/p>\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/tag\/liam-rosenior\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Liam Rosenior<\/a> brought on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/tag\/alejandro-garnacho\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alejandro Garnacho<\/a> early on in the second half and that proved to be crucial, with the winger grabbing a brace to keep the tie alive.<\/p>\n<p>One thing that will really annoy Rosenior is the two mistakes from his goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez. <\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/club\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chelsea<\/a> shot-stopper flapped at a corner for the first goal and showed weak wrists for the second to gift Viktor Gyokeres an easy tap-in.<\/p>\n<p>But, Sanchez won\u2019t be the only player that the Chelsea boss is disappointed in. <\/p>\n<p>          Do Chelsea still have a chance of reaching the final? \ud83e\udd14 <\/p>\n<p class=\"grv-talking-point__subtitle\">Plenty of positives, plenty of negatives\u2026<\/p>\n<p>     <img decoding=\"async\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/TCC-6-1-819x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-345234\" \/>     <\/p>\n<p> \ud83d\udc47 Join the debate; share your insight. Use the comment button on the bottom left to have your say <\/p>\n<p>   Marc Cucurella had a night to forget against Arsenal <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/match-coverage\/confirmed-chelsea-xi-vs-arsenal-with-two-huge-players-missing-in-liam-roseniors-first-home-game\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rosenior opted for Cucurella at left-back against Arsenal<\/a>, despite Jorrel Hato\u2019s promising performance against Charlton Athletic in the Spaniard\u2019s absence.<\/p>\n<p>This didn\u2019t really go to plan for the Chelsea boss, but you can understand his thinking. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/tag\/marc-cucurella\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cucurella<\/a> lost possession 14 times, which was the most of any Chelsea defender. This massively affected his defensive game, as he couldn\u2019t afford to be aggressive in the second half. <\/p>\n<p>Bukayo Saka successfully completed six dribbles tonight and five of those were against Cucurella. The Spaniard was bypassed so often that Liam Rosenior shifted to a back three in the 70th minute.<\/p>\n<p>Jorrel Hato shows what he\u2019s capable of against Arsenal<\/p>\n<p>The biggest thing to come from tonight is the performance of Jorrel Hato.
