{"id":245469,"date":"2026-01-15T04:52:22","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T04:52:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/245469\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T04:52:22","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T04:52:22","slug":"applications-open-for-mental-health-and-addictions-research-grants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/245469\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications open for mental health and addictions research grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The province has opened up applications for research grants for mental health and addictions.<\/p>\n<p>The Nova Scotia government said grants of up to $100,000 over two years are available for projects that look into how mental health and addictions intersect with housing, food security and education, among others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMental health and wellness are influenced by many factors, like social environments, access to housing, education and more,\u201d said Brian Comer, Minister of Addictions and Mental Health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResearch that is focused on Nova Scotia and what shapes mental health and addiction here at home will help us build a stronger system of care for all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the province, a total of $400,000 in research funding is available and it will be distributed through Research Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for expressions of interest is Feb. 11 and people can apply at Research Nova Scotia\u2019s website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The province has opened up applications for research grants for mental health and addictions.
