\t\t\u2018I Just Might\u2019 See a Streaming Bump: Bruno Mars\u2019 New Single Sends Catalog Soaring\t<\/p>\n

\n\tIf there was ever any worry that Bruno Mars\u2019 commercial appeal has dulled in the decade since his last solo album release, those concerns have effectively died (with a smile?) over the past few days, as new single \u201cI Just Might\u201d has exploded on streaming services since its release last Friday (Jan. 9). In its few four days of availability (Jan. 9-12), \u201cI Just Might,\u201d which precedes Mars\u2019 upcoming album The Romantic, has earned a whopping 13.73 million U.S. on-demand streams, according to Luminate \u2014 ensuring a major debut on next week\u2019s Hot 100, and suggesting one of the first new streaming smashes of 2026.<\/p>\n

\n\tFurthermore, the release of \u201cI Just Might\u201d has encouraged listeners to revisit Mars\u2019 discography outside of the new single. From Jan. 9-12, Mars\u2019 catalog (excluding \u201cI Just Might\u201d) earned 50.87 million total streams \u2014 a 75% uptick from the same four-day period during the previous week (29 million streams from Jan. 2-5). Fans will have to wait until Feb. 27 to hear all of The Romantic, but in the meantime, they\u2019re making do with Mars\u2019 many other hits, including nine career Billboard Hot 100<\/a> chart-toppers. \u2014 JASON LIPSHUTZ<\/p>\n

\t\tFetty Wap\u2019s Homecoming Spurs Massive Catalog Surge, Led by \u2018Trap Queen\u2019\t<\/p>\n

\n\tLast Thursday (Jan. 8), Billboard reported<\/a>, with confirmation from his reps, that New Jersey rapper Fetty Wap secured an early release from prison. After serving over three years behind bars on federal drug charges, Fetty came home 11 months ahead of schedule. Naturally, his fans and general mid-2010s fanatics ran to streaming to celebrate Fetty\u2019s return.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to Luminate, the rapper\u2019s catalog exploded nearly 125% after his release. In the four-day period following the news (Jan. 9-12), Fetty\u2019s catalog pulled 11.8 million official on-demand U.S. streams, up from 5.2 million streams from the same period before his homecoming (Jan. 2-5). 10 years ago, \u201cTrap Queen\u201d was the song that launched Fetty into the mainstream, and, unsurprisingly, the modern classic earned a massive boost. During the period of Jan. 9-12, \u201cTrap Queen\u201d logged 3.2 million official streams, up 99% from the 1.62 million streams it earned during Jan. 2-5.<\/p>\n

\n\tFetty scored several Hot 100 top 10 hits when he broke through in 2015 \u2014 including \u201c679\u201d (No. 4, with Remy Boyz) and \u201cMy Way\u201d (No. 7, with Monty) \u2014 and now he has a chance to add some new titles to that collection. \u2014 KYLE DENIS<\/p>\n

\t\tViral Dance Trend Helps \u2018Whim Whamiee\u2019 Rapper PLUTO Score First 2026 Hit\t<\/p>\n

\n\tATL rapper PLUTO earned one of the first new hip-hop hits of 2025<\/a> with her YK Niece teamup \u201cWhim Whamiee,\u201d and now she\u2019s back with her first viral song of 2026. Hopping on fellow ATL female rapper Taffy\u2019s breakout hit \u201cFeeling on My Body,\u201d PLUTO\u2019s remix has helped the song conquer TikTok, thanks to a partnered dance trend created by users @1waykj and @1.waykai.<\/p>\n

\n\tTheir original Jan. 5 dance<\/a> has since soared past 1.7 million views, helping the accompanying unofficial \u201cFeeling\u201d TikTok sound<\/a> reach over 57,300 posts. On Jan. 4, user @zolodoloo debuted an unaffiliated solo dance<\/a> in a clip that earned over 1.6 million views, helping its accompanying unofficial TikTok sound<\/a> hit 30,300 posts. As the partnered dance trend has attracted celebrity couples like Love Island USA\u2019s Serena Page and Kordell Beckham<\/a>, all official and unofficial \u201cFeeling\u201d TikTok sounds play in over 113,800 combined posts.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the four-day period following the two new dance trends, \u201cFeeling on My Body\u201d exploded over 174% to 817,000 official on-demand U.S. streams, according to Luminate \u2014\u00a0a far cry from the 298,000 official streams the track collected during the period of Jan. 2-5.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith this new hit showing no signs of slowing down, PLUTO has clearly hit the ground running in 2026. \u2014 KD<\/p>\n
