The former worked with Carrick at Middlesbrough \u2013 where both had spells as manager \u2013 and Evans was part of Fletcher\u2019s staff, having recently left his role as United\u2019s loans manager.<\/p>\n
Keane said: \u201c(Carrick) is on the beach two weeks ago with Jonny Evans.<\/p>\n

\u201cFletch goes and Carrick gives him a job. Great, isn\u2019t it? We should all go to Barbados for a week.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019re on about getting your coaching staff in, we\u2019re praising one of them saying he\u2019s experienced (in Holland) and then we just let the other two go, Jonathan Woodgate and Jonny Evans.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat has Jonny Evans done to be a coach of Man United\u2019s first team? He left the job four weeks ago, loans manager and ironically comes back working with the first team. That\u2019s a big step up, isn\u2019t it?\u201d<\/p>\n
Neville added that United cannot consider keeping Michael Carrick as head coach beyond the end of the season.<\/p>\n
Carrick faces Manchester City on Saturday lunchtime as he begins his quest to seal Champions League qualification and Neville is \u201cquite emphatic\u201d that his old team-mate cannot be given the job beyond this campaign whatever happens.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope he does really well,\u201d Neville said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere cannot be any consideration that Michael takes the job beyond this season, for Michael and for the club.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf he wins every game, look, we could be sat here in the season where he\u2019s done unbelievably well, and we\u2019re always thinking the fans are up and they\u2019re in the Champions League places, fifth or whatever. It could happen if there\u2019s a good run and we could all be getting swayed with it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI honestly feel like (you have to look at others) at the end of the season when you\u2019ve got (Mauricio) Pochettino, (Thomas) Tuchel and (Carlo) Ancelotti.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve said Ancelotti. I just feel purely because he\u2019s 66 years of age, he\u2019s got probably the best job in the world right now. He\u2019s probably got one job left at club level.<\/p>\n
