Garda\u00ed have issued an appeal for witnesses following a serious collision involving a pedestrian in Letterkenny today.<\/p>\n
A man in his 80s was rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital after being struck by a car on Lower Main Street at approximately 1pm.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed have this evening confirmed that the man\u2019s injuries are described as serious.<\/p>\n
Lower Main Street remains closed to traffic tonight while the scene has been preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.<\/p>\n
Local diversions are in place.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.<\/p>\n
Any road users, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 12:15pm and 1:15pm on Thursday 15th January 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
