\n\tBTS<\/a> have announced the title of their forthcoming album<\/a>. The highly-anticipated LP<\/a>, the group\u2019s first studio album since 2020\u2019s\u00a0Be, will be called Arirang, named for a traditional Korean folk song renowned both in Korea and around the world. <\/p>\n

\n\tPer a press release, \u201cthe song has long been associated with emotions of connection, distance, and reunion.\u201d It adds that the album is \u201ca deeply reflective body of work that explores BTS\u2019 identity and roots.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDrawing on the emotional depth of \u2018Arirang\u2019\u2014its sense of yearning, longing, and the ebb and flow of life, the band ultimately chose the title for its strong resonance with their current journey,\u201d the press release explains. \u201cThe new release explores universal emotions of longing and love and will resonate with the worldwide audience as a timeless legacy across generations and cultures.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDigital billboards featuring the logo of the band\u2019s new album appeared across major cities to promote the announcement, including in New York, Tokyo, London, and Paris.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAs previously announced, Arirang will arrive on March 20. Before the official confirmation, the seven members\u00a0teased their return<\/a>\u00a0in handwritten notes sent to some special fans to celebrate the New Year. In the messages, they hinted at being reunited soon with their loyal ARMY fanbase, cryptically writing the date March 20, 2026.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019ve waited more earnestly than anyone else,\u201d RM wrote. \u201cThe year we\u2019ve been waiting for has finally arrived,\u201d Jimin added. \u201cIn 2026, we\u2019ll make even more good memories, so look forward to it!\u201d V said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe band has been back in the studio together working since July, promising an album that will \u201creflect each member\u2019s thoughts and ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started,\u201d BTS said in a statement last year. \u201cWe\u2019re also planning a world tour alongside the new album. We\u2019ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you\u2019re as excited as we are.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTo support the album, BTS will mark their live return<\/a> with an extensive tour launching this April and running through March 2027, with additional dates to be announced. The BTS world tour will kick off in Goyang, South Korea, on April 9.
