\n\tJudd Apatow<\/a> and Glen Powell<\/a>\u2018s forthcoming country music comedy<\/a> will hit theaters on February 5, 2027, Universal<\/a> announced Friday.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film, about a country western star in free fall, is set to star Powell and Cristin Milioti. Apatow will direct from a script that he and Powell co-wrote. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve definitely been getting the pipes warmed up,\u201d Powell told Variety on the red carpet at the Golden Globes. Powell was nominated for best actor in a comedy series for his Hulu show, \u201cChad Powers,\u201d and teased that the music movie would be next up on his busy dance card. Case in point, Powell\u2019s movie with J.J. Abrams<\/a>, \u201cThe Great Beyond,\u201d was dated by Warner Bros. earlier Friday.<\/p>\n

\n\tApatow will produce through his Apatow Productions\u2019 longstanding overall deal with Universal, which dates back to his 2005 directorial debut, \u201cThe 40-Year-Old Virgin.\u201d He has since directed \u201cKnocked Up,\u201d \u201cFunny People,\u201d \u201cThis is 40,\u201d \u201cTrainwreck\u201d and \u201cThe King of Staten Island\u201d for the studio; among the projects Apatow has in development there include an \u201cedgy romantic comedy\u201d<\/a> written by and starring Nikki Glaser.<\/p>\n

\n\tPowell and Dan Cohen will produce through Barnstorm\u2019s first-look deal with the studio, which originated with his starring role in \u201cTwisters.\u201d The disaster movie was a massive hit, grossing $267.8 million at the domestic box office. Like Apatow, Powell has a number of projects in the works at Universal, including the sci-fi movie \u201cThe Natural Order,\u201d with Barry Jenkins attached to direct and he will star.<\/p>\n
