Fabrizio Romano insists Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has a \u201cgood connection\u201d with people at Man Utd after revealing he will leave Selhurst Park in the summer.<\/p>\n
The Austrian head coach has been brilliant in his time at Crystal Palace with Glasner guiding them to FA Cup glory last season<\/a>.<\/p>\n That achievement has seen him linked with the Man Utd<\/a> job after the Red Devils sacked Ruben Amorim last week with the Red Devils to appoint a permanent successor in the summer.<\/p>\n And Glasner revealed on Friday afternoon that he won\u2019t renew his contract<\/a>, which expires at the end of the season, at Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n Glasner, who also confirmed Marc Guehi is leaving<\/a>, said: \u201cA decision has already been taken, months ago. I had a meeting with Steve [Parish] in October, during the international break.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had a very long talk, and I told him I will not sign a new contract. We agreed at the time that it was best to keep it between us. We think now it\u2019s important that we have clarity as it\u2019s what the players, staff members and every fan deserve.<\/p>\n \u201cI told Steve [Parish] I\u2019m just looking for a new challenge. I told him in October that it\u2019s nothing to do with the transfer window. I hate it if something is written or said that is not true, and it was very tough for me not to respond.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have a great relationship, and we\u2019re always talking about what is best for Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n \u201cI haven\u2019t spoken to any other club, I told the players that and promised them today I will give my best to give the best season in Crystal Palace history, the best points tally in history.\u201d<\/p>\n Giving an update on Glasner\u2019s future, Romano said on his YouTube channel: \u201cOliver Glasner has now officially confirmed what I reported on Christmas Day and again before today\u2019s press conference.<\/p>\n \u201cHe told the club months ago that he would not extend his contract and would leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season.<\/p>\n \u201cThis was never about creating problems; it was about telling the truth as I understood it. Thomas Tuchel is with England, although Ineos are big admirers of him.<\/p>\n \u201cRegarding Glasner, there is a good connection with some people at Manchester United, particularly Christopher Vivell, who knows German football very well.
