A Galway man who was arrested at 3.30am in a Cork town was so inebriated he \u201ccouldn\u2019t speak\u201d, the district court has heard.<\/p>\n
Sergeant Tom Mulcahy told Skibbereen District Court that garda\u00ed were called to an incident at P\u00e1irc Goodman, Gortnaclohy, in Skibbreen, at 3.30am on December 28.<\/p>\n
When they arrived at the address, they found 23-year-old Kyle Fahy, with an address at P\u00e1irc Goodman, Pound Hill, Skibbereen, in a highly intoxicated state outside his house.<\/p>\n
The court heard Mr Fahy had had an argument with his partner and \u201ccouldn\u2019t stand\u201d and \u201ccouldn\u2019t speak really\u201d either.<\/p>\n

Fahy was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place contrary to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act, 1994.<\/p>\n
The court heard Fahy had 21 previous convictions, including three for public intoxication.<\/p>\n
Defence solicitor Flor Murphy said Fahy was originally from Galway and had come to Cork with his partner, with whom he had two children. He said the family had been in various homeless accommodations before securing the property at P\u00e1irc Goodman.<\/p>\n
Mr Murphy said after the incident Fahy had gone to live with his parents, who were now living in Charleville. Fahy said he was in the process of gaining employment in the Charleville area and had completed a counselling course.<\/p>\n
Judge Joanne Carroll admitted Fahy to a probation bond for 12 months on condition he cooperates with the Probation Service, attends all appointments, and attends counselling services.<\/p>\n
