{"id":252499,"date":"2026-01-19T13:17:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-19T13:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/252499\/"},"modified":"2026-01-19T13:17:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-19T13:17:11","slug":"olympic-showjumper-allen-charged-with-dui-in-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/252499\/","title":{"rendered":"Olympic showjumper Allen charged with DUI in Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Olympian Bertram Allen has been arrested and charged with drink driving and damage to property in Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The showjumper, originally from Wexford, was booked in Palm Beach County, Florida on 14 January.<\/p>\n<p>The 30-year-old represented Ireland at the delayed Tokyo 2020 Games and was picked as an alternate for Paris 2024 but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rte.ie\/sport\/equestrian\/2024\/0723\/1461441-show-jumper-allen-out-of-paris-games\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">had to withdraw after his horse Pacino Amiro picked up an injury<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Allen was in Florida to take part in the 12-week long Winter Spectacular Show Series in Ocala.<\/p>\n<p>He is recognised as one of Ireland&#8217;s leading competitors within the sport.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Olympian Bertram Allen has been arrested and charged with drink driving and damage to property in Florida.
