Director Adrian Lyne\u2019s highly influential psychological horror movie, Jacob\u2019s Ladder, is getting a brand new 4K restoration that\u2019s heading to theaters this Halloween season.<\/p>\n

The 4K restoration is set to make its World Premiere at the American Cinematheque\u2019s Beyond Fest<\/a> in Los Angeles on September 28 before opening\u00a0at the\u00a0IFC Center in New York City on\u00a0Friday, October 3, with a national rollout to follow.<\/p>\n

In Jacob\u2019s Ladder, \u201cJacob Singer (Tim Robbins), a Vietnam War veteran plagued with troubling hallucinations and traumatic flashbacks, struggles to maintain his sanity as his terrible past invades his waking life. As\u00a0girlfriend Jezzie (Elizabeth Pe\u00f1a) and chiropractor friend Louis (Danny Aiello) try to help him find balance, Jacob only descends further into madness and despair.\u201d<\/p>\n

Written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin (Ghost), Lyne\u2019s psychological horror movie presents a mind-bending look at the horrible effects of war on the human psyche. Time and reality distort through increasingly surreal images that torment Jacob. Twisted nightmare sequences are full of fast-twitching entities amidst settings that stretch normality, pervading his waking life and signaling that something\u2019s deeply amiss as Jacob\u2019s reality untethers further. The more Jacob\u2019s paranoia mounts, the more horrific the imagery.<\/p>\n

Jacob\u2019s Ladder also stars Ving Rhames, Jason Alexander, Eriq La Salle, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and an uncredited Macaulay Culkin, featuring music by Maurice Jarre (Lawrence of Arabia,\u00a0Dr. Zhivago).<\/p>\n

This 4K restoration rolling out nationwide was completed by ROUNDABOUT \u2013 USA from the original negative, scanned and restored in 4K. The color grading and restoration were supervised by Adrian Lyne. This project was brought to you by STUDIOCANAL and supervised by Delphine Roussel and Jean-Pierre Boiget.<\/p>\n
