Williams\u2019 new record has received a positive reaction from critics (Ian West\/PA Wire)<\/p>\nFormer Take That singer Robbie Williams released his new album Britpop on Friday, three weeks earlier than expected.<\/p>\n
The 51-year-old\u2019s latest record, the first in seven years, has received a positive reception from the critics.<\/p>\n
In a video on Instagram, the pop star said: \u201cGuys, I mean, come on, it\u2019s been long enough. I\u2019ve decided that I want to go now. It\u2019s been ages.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow, now, please deploy. Let\u2019s go.\u201d<\/p>\n
The video also showed a series of promotional material on display in London for his new album, and the caption read: \u201cBritpop \u2013 the brand new album \u2013 out now.\u201d<\/p>\n
The record, Williams\u2019 13th studio album, includes four already-released singles: Rocket, Spies, Human, Pretty Face. There is also a new single out today from the album titled All My Life.<\/p>\n
The record features collaborations with former Take That bandmate, Gary Barlow, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, and Black Sabbath\u2019s Tony Iommi.<\/p>\n

Awarding it four out of five stars, Rolling Stone magazine said: \u201cIt\u2019s unrepentantly mad, as illustrated by the swirling guitars on Rocket, but this constant sense of unpredictability is a strength.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Guardian also gave it four stars, and noted Williams\u2019 influence from Britpop group Oasis.<\/p>\n
It said: \u201cThere\u2019s no mistaking who influenced the vocal intonation of All My Life, with its vowels drawled into multiple syllables, or the wall of distorted guitars on Spies.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut there\u2019s a swagger and sparkle to the melodies that shift these songs past the realm of pastiche, and the results are hugely enjoyable.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Telegraph also awarded the album four stars, and said: \u201cThe whole album is a lot of fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
Britpop was originally due to be released in October 2025 but the singer pushed it back after learning it would clash with Taylor Swift\u2019s The Life Of A Showgirl.<\/p>\n
