Mo Salah<\/a> has been named in Liverpool\u2019s travelling squad to play Olympique de Marseille in the Champions League<\/a>, but Ibrahima Konate<\/a> is not included.<\/p>\n

Liverpool\u2019s squad for Marseille: A quick look<\/p>\n

\u2022 Salah returns: Mohamed Salah<\/a> is back in the 20-man travelling squad following his return from AFCON duty with Egypt. <\/p>\n

\u2022 Konate absent: Ibrahima Konate<\/a> will miss the trip due to family reasons, leaving the Reds light on senior centre-back options. <\/p>\n

\u2022 Defensive reshuffle: With Konate out, Joe Gomez<\/a> is expected to partner Virgil van Dijk<\/a> in a depleted defensive unit. <\/p>\n

Having returned from AFCON after finishing fourth with Egypt, Salah is back in contention for Liverpool and will be a part of the 20-man squad in Marseille.<\/p>\n

Liverpool\u2019s No. 11 has been missing for Liverpool\u2019s last seven matches, but he is back now and travelling to the south of France with the team. <\/p>\n

Konate has not been included in the travelling squad, however.<\/p>\n

The Frenchman didn\u2019t train<\/a> on Tuesday because he is back home in France due to family reasons, reported<\/a> journalist James Pearce.<\/p>\n

With Konate, Conor Bradley<\/a> and Giovanni Leoni<\/a> all out injured, we should see a backline of Jeremie Frimpong<\/a>, Joe Gomez<\/a>, Virgil van Dijk<\/a> and either Andy Robertson<\/a> or Milos Kerkez<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If Gomez or Van Dijk were to get injured, the next in line to play at centre-back are Wataru Endo<\/a> and Ryan Gravenberch<\/a>, while Robertson could also provide a makeshift option.<\/p>\n

Mo Salah returns to Liverpool after AFCON<\/p>\n

Despite Salah\u2019s falling out with Arne Slot<\/a> in early December, the head coach is pleased to have him back.<\/p>\n

The Dutchman said last week: \u201cEven if I had 15 attackers I still would have been happy that he comes back, but that\u2019s not our current situation. Happy to have him back.\u201d<\/p>\n

He could come back into the side on the right wing, but it would be no surprise to see Liverpool line up with four central midfielders and exclude the Egyptian, like they did against Inter Milan.<\/p>\n

Having trained then flown to Marseille, Slot is holding his pre-match press conference at the Stade Velodrome from 6.40pm (GMT) on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
