Kylian Mbappe struck twice, and Vinicius Jr scored a spectacular solo goal and provided two \u2060assists as Real Madrid cruised to a 6-1 victory over Monaco at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League.<\/p>\n

The comprehensive victory lifted Real to second place in the standings with 15 points, level with third-placed Bayern Munich and trailing leaders Arsenal<\/a> by six, as they moved closer to securing a top-eight finish and direct qualification for the round of 16.<\/p>\n

Monaco, meanwhile, are 20th on nine points, giving them a chance of reaching the knockout-phase playoffs.<\/p>\n

Mbappe opened the scoring in the \u2060fifth minute and gave Madrid a two-goal lead when he found the net \u2060again in the 26th, while Franco Mastantuono added their third goal six minutes after half-time.<\/p>\n

Monaco defender \u2060Thilo Kehrer inadvertently \u2060turned a Vinicius cross into his own net in the 55th minute and the Brazilian crowned his man-of-the-match performance in the \u206063rd with an extraordinary solo goal, firing into the top corner after dribbling past three Monaco defenders inside the box.<\/p>\n

Monaco pulled one back in the 72nd minute with a Jordan Teze strike before Jude Bellingham added to Real’s tally with a strike from inside the box \u2060in the 80th.<\/p>\n

Holders Paris Saint-Germain slipped to a 2-1 defeat at \u2060Portuguese side Sporting, jeopardising their bid to qualify directly for the last 16 after Luis Suarez struck twice, netting the winner in the final minute.<\/p>\n

Sporting had gone ahead against the run of play in the second half through Suarez, despite sustained pressure from PSG.<\/p>\n

The French champions hit back quickly as \u2060Khvicha Kvaratskhelia levelled with a superb strike, appearing to \u2060salvage a point.<\/p>\n

Suarez, however, struck again in the dying moments to \u2060snatch victory \u2060for Sporting, leaving both teams on 13 points and inside the top eight.<\/p>\n

Substitute Jordan Larsson’s late equaliser gave 10-man FC Copenhagen a \u2060hard-earned 1\u20131 draw against Napoli.<\/p>\n

The Serie A side took the lead in the 39th minute when Scott McTominay rose unmarked in the centre of the box to head in a corner. The Greeks, desperate for points to finish in the top 24, got off to a dream start when Rodinei whipped a corner into the box and Costinha powered his header in for a second-minute lead.<\/p>\n

Leverkusen, missing several \u2060key players including keeper Mark Flekken, Edmond Tapsoba and Nathan Tella, gradually took control and \u2060created a string of chances late in the first half, with Olympiacos keeper Kostas Tzolakis repeatedly coming \u2060to the rescue.<\/p>\n

Instead \u2060it was the hosts who scored again, hitting the Germans with a two-pass counter-attack and Iran international Mehdi Taremi drilling in from another \u2060Rodinei assist in first-half stoppage time.<\/p>\n

In the early kick-off, Club Brugge earned a 4-1 victory in Kazakhstan against Kairat Almaty.<\/p>\n

Aleksandar Stankovic and Hans Vanaken had the Belgians two goals ahead at half-time, before Romeo Vermant and Brandon Mechele put the game out of sight.<\/p>\n

A well-taken volley from Adilet Sadybekov late on gave Almaty a consolation.<\/p>\n

Substitute Oliver Edvardsen scored in the last minute to give \u2060Ajax Amsterdam a dramatic 2-1 away victory over Villarreal that keeps alive their hopes of progressing to the knockout stages.<\/p>\n

Edvardsen buried a cutback cross from flying fullback Anton Gaael in the 90th minute to see the Dutch giants, who had lost their first five group games, come from behind to win a second successive tie which means they still have a \u2060chance of finishing in the top 24 with a home \u2060game to come against Olympiacos of Greece next week.<\/p>\n

Villarreal are eliminated, stuck \u2060second from \u2060bottom with a single point as poor form in Europe contrasts with their third place in \u2060LaLiga.<\/p>\n
