We\u2019re into the January crunch now, and chances are you\u2019re counting down the days, hours and minutes until payday.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a familiar problem, but does it always have to be like this?<\/p>\n

Maybe there\u2019s a way to strategically save to avoid this scenario this time next year?<\/p>\n

With that in mind, Ann-Marie Gaynor, the Irish Budgeting Mammy, is our guest this week on the Money Talks podcast.<\/p>\n

A familiar face on social media, Ms Gaynor has been on quite the savings journey, having managed to completely turn her life around after an incredible low point.<\/p>\n

At the age of 30, when she was a single mother to three children, she was forced to face up to her crippling credit card debt.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a very dark time,\u201d Ms Gaynor says. \u201cI was still young. I felt like everyone else was starting their lives \u2013 if you looked on Facebook or whatever, everyone was getting married, or they\u2019re just having their first baby.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd here is me, divorced, age 30, three kids, no strong qualifications behind me, no job, a mortgage I couldn\u2019t pay. I know a lot of people think they\u2019re struggling, but that was really, really struggling, and I nearly lost my house.\u201d<\/p>\n

Today, she\u2019s taken control of her finances and now teaches others to do the same.<\/p>\n
