{"id":258741,"date":"2026-01-22T22:33:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-22T22:33:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/258741\/"},"modified":"2026-01-22T22:33:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T22:33:08","slug":"part-of-tralee-northern-relief-road-may-open-next-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/258741\/","title":{"rendered":"Part of Tralee Northern Relief Road may open next month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Part of the long-awaited Tralee Northern Relief Road may open as early as next month.<\/p>\n<p>The 2.5-kilometre road project will allow traffic to bypass Tralee on the northern side of the town from Forge Cross to the Bracker O\u2019Regan Road.<\/p>\n<p>The first part of the project is a 1.2-kilometre stretch from Forge Cross Roundabout to the newly-constructed roundabout at Listellick on the Tralee to Abbeydorney road.<\/p>\n<p>The recent meeting of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerrycoco.ie\/tralee-municipal-district\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tralee Municipal District<\/a> was told that good progress is being made by the contractor, and the works are due to be complete in the first quarter of the year.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s understood that this section may open as early as Late February.<\/p>\n<p>The second part of the scheme connects the R556 Tralee to Abbeydorney road, with the Bracker O\u2019Regan Road.<\/p>\n<p>A consultant was appointed to advance the planning and design of this section, and a preferred route has been chosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiokerry.ie\/news\/kerry-county-council-asking-public-for-feedback-on-tralee-northern-relief-road-439557\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">following public consultation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The design process for this section of the road is currently being advanced.<\/p>\n<p>The overall project is estimated to cost \u20ac3.5 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Part of the long-awaited Tralee Northern Relief Road may open as early as next month.
