{"id":259297,"date":"2026-01-23T06:24:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T06:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/259297\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T06:24:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T06:24:09","slug":"five-juveniles-questioned-over-alleged-sexual-assault-of-schoolgirl-in-dublin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/259297\/","title":{"rendered":"Five juveniles questioned over alleged sexual assault of schoolgirl in Dublin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Five teenage boys have been arrested following an alleged serious sexual assault on a schoolgirl.<\/p>\n<p> The attack was at least partially recorded and the video was circulated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> And the video was sent to the young alleged victim, it is understood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> The five boys were arrested on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> They were released without charge pending files being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> The DPP will then decide whether to bring a criminal prosecution against the boys.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> The alleged teenage victim met her alleged attackers with friends in Dublin city centre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> The group were consuming alcohol before the alleged serious sexual assaults by a number of boys on the girl, it is understood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> The investigation is being led by the Divisional Protective Services Unit. Garda\u00ed in these units are specially trained to deal with sexual crime, child protection, domestic abuse and human trafficking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> A Garda spokesperson told the  Irish Examiner: &#8220;All five persons arrested and detained were questioned in respect of the alleged offence and have been released without charge, pending a file to the DPP.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> The juveniles were interviewed by specialist garda child interviewers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na continue to investigate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Five teenage boys have been arrested following an alleged serious sexual assault on a schoolgirl.
