Ireland is bracing for wet weather next week, with significant parts of the nation facing potential flooding due to heavy rainfall.<\/a><\/p>\n A prominent meteorologist<\/a> has cautioned that a low-pressure system is expected to move south of the country on Tuesday, bringing with it a period of grim conditions.<\/p>\n Alan O’Reilly<\/a>, the meteorologist behind the widely-followed Carlow Weather social media accounts,<\/a> has indicated that intense rainfall will batter nearly all of Ireland, with the South and East particularly vulnerable to flooding as they bear the worst of the conditions.<\/p>\n O’Reilly noted that current weather<\/a> models are ‘concerning’ as they indicate substantial downpours are anticipated over the coming days – with more than 100mm of rain predicted to fall by Thursday.<\/p>\n Posting on X \/ Twitter<\/a> on Friday, O’Reilly stated: “Another low system to watch is one potentially to the South of Ireland Tuesday that could bring us more heavy rain and further increase the risk of flooding in parts of South and East.”, reports the Irish Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Weather models total rainfall forecast up to midday Wednesday on first 2 images are concerning with a lot more rain to come and possibly even more after that as last 2 images show totals up to midday Friday.”<\/p>\n O’Reilly added: “A risk of more heavy rain Tuesday and some models show that rain falling as sleet and snow on higher ground for a time but likely turn back to rain. A lot more rain to come over next 4 days sadly.
