{"id":262710,"date":"2026-01-25T04:04:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-25T04:04:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/262710\/"},"modified":"2026-01-25T04:04:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-25T04:04:12","slug":"limerick-bank-building-reopening-faces-delays-and-rising-costs-project-update-reveals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/262710\/","title":{"rendered":"Limerick bank building reopening faces delays and rising costs, project update reveals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CONCERNS were raised over rising costs and delays to the reopening of the former Bank of Ireland premises in Rathkeale during the January meeting of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/section\/309\/politics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Adare\u2013Rathkeale Municipal District,<\/a> where an update on the building was discussed.<\/p>\n<p>Cllr Bridie Collins said that to date more than \u20ac400,000 has been spent on maintaining the property, yet the doors are \u201cnowhere near opening\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that it will be at least another 12 months before the project is even at the stage of applying for the next round of Community Enterprise funding, which is expected to amount to approximately \u20ac2 million.<\/p>\n<p>She also queried what plans were in place to ensure the front of the building is properly maintained.
