Tottenham star Micky van de Ven could push for a move away if their form does not improve before the end of this season amid interest in his services from Liverpool.<\/p>\n

Van de Ven<\/a> has been a standout in Tottenham<\/a>\u2018s defence over the last two-and-a-half years, playing a pivotal role in their Europa League triumph last season.<\/p>\n

He has scored six times in 29 appearances so far this term, but Spurs are struggling under Thomas Frank amid huge uncertainty around his future in charge.<\/p>\n

Football Insider have revealed this week that Liverpool are interested in Van de Ven<\/a> ahead of this summer as they potentially look to replace Ibrahima Konate.<\/p>\n

As I revealed on the latest edition of\u00a0Football Insider\u2019s Transfer Insider podcast<\/a>, the Dutchman could accelerate a move away from North London if Spurs\u2019 woes continue over the next few months.<\/p>\n

Liverpool are the current favourites to sign Van de Ven<\/a>\u00a0as he is continually linked away from\u00a0Tottenham, with Real Madrid also known to be keeping tabs on his availability.<\/p>\n

Tottenham currently occupy 14th in the Premier League, eight points behind Man United in fifth, so their chances of qualifying for the Champions League look slim as it stands, unless they win it this season.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the\u00a0Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: \u201cIf Tottenham aren\u2019t playing Champions League football next season maybe van de Ven could eye a move away to play at the highest level. <\/p>\n

\u201cA player like him will want to playing in the Champions League on a regular basis and be competing for silverware as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not going to be an easy deal to do. I\u2019m sure there\u2019ll be a lot of clubs, not just Liverpool, who would be interested in Van de Ven if there\u2019s any indication that he wants to leave Tottenham anytime soon as well. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s under a long-term contract until 2029 and we know Spurs are tough negotiators, so they\u2019ll be looking at a big, big fee for Van de Ven as well. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut as I said, if Tottenham aren\u2019t showing improvements on the field, maybe that might see the player himself try and push for a move away.\u201c<\/p>\n

Curtis Jones could hold the key to Van de Ven to Liverpool<\/p>\n

With Van de Ven potentially set to move to Anfield soon, Reds midfielder Jones<\/a> has been touted to go the opposite way and join Tottenham in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

Reports of their interest in his services have emerged in January as he struggles to nail down a consistent spot in Slot\u2019s starting eleven, but Football Insider have revealed that Liverpool plan to turn down any approaches for Jones<\/a>\u00a0from Spurs this month.<\/p>\n

Slot does not want to weaken his midfield options right now, but the England man has only started 10 Premier League games so far this term and so could well be allowed to leave in the summer.<\/p>\n
