Nina Dobrev and Shaun White may not have been on the same page about their future.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, September 16, a source told People<\/a> the Vampire Diaries alum, 36, \u201cis devastated\u201d over the breakup.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was one reason: She wanted a family and wanted to get married \u2014 and he didn\u2019t,\u201d the source claimed.<\/p>\n

The insider noted the actress was not in the country right now and was being \u201csupported by family.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, a separate source claimed that the professional snowboarder, 39, \u201cwanted marriage and kids\u201d and that \u201cit wasn\u2019t just one-sided.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Star previously reported,<\/a> Dobrev and the three-time Olympic gold medalist split last week, with a source telling People<\/a> at the time that things ended amicably.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a mutual decision, and wasn\u2019t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another,\u201d the insider shared.<\/p>\n

In October 2024, White proposed to Dobrev in New York City after about five years together, but in March, the former CW star admitted they had not started wedding planning.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was in Australia shooting a movie and then Christmas and New Year\u2019s,\u201d Dobrev explained to E!<\/a> at the time. \u201cWe\u2019re just enjoying being engaged at this point and being in that sort of phase because a lot of your life is \u2014 you have a boyfriend for half of your life and then you have a husband for half of your life but the fianc\u00e9 period is very short.\u201d<\/p>\n
