Officials at Leopardstown will have be hoping for a dry spell as parts of the track are waterlogged just days before the Dublin Racing Festival.<\/p>\n
The IHRB have revealed the course has had 58mm of rain in the past 24 hours and a total of 165mm in the past 12 days.<\/p>\n
They added: “According to the forecast the heaviest of the rain has now passed. Breezy with possibility of light showers today & tomorrow. Mainly dry early Thursday with rain developing Thursday night & then turning mainly dry thereafter into the weekend.”<\/p>\n
Eight Grade 1 races are due to take place including the Irish Gold Cup and Champion Hurdle.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile today’s National Hunt meeting at Newcastle will take place following a mid-morning inspection. The ground has changed to soft, heavy in places following torrential rain.<\/p>\n
Wednesday’s card at Leicester is off after an 8am inspection found the track to be waterlogged. Exeter was abandoned on Monday with their surface waterlogged. <\/p>\n
