\"\u2018Mujhe Before television fame and films, Parmeet Sethi\u2019s journey began with failure. His garment export business collapsed, pushing him to rethink his future. In a recent vlog, Parmeet recalled how a moment at home changed everything. When a producer visited to sign Archana<\/a> Puran Singh for a film, Parmeet was left fascinated by the world of cinema. That was when he decided to try acting. \u201cI only had to sell myself, and that I knew how to do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t think you can become an actor\u2019<\/p>\n

Parmeet revealed that Archana was blunt about his chances. \u201cI don\u2019t think you can become an actor,\u201d she told him. Still, he followed his instinct and joined Roshan Taneja\u2019s acting classes, where Suniel Shetty<\/a> and Mahesh Thakur were also students. Looking back at that phase, Parmeet laughed at his own confidence. \u201cMujhe laga Suniel se toh main better hoon… I thought I was better than Suniel. I even left the three-month acting class midway, I was that overconfident. But today, when I watch my old series, I feel so embarrassed,\u201d he admitted.<\/p>\n

\u2018My family did not approve of you\u2019<\/p>\n

After 35 years together, Archana and Parmeet revisited their love story on their YouTube talk series Pyaar Dosti Hai. While Archana\u2019s family accepted Parmeet, resistance came from his side. \u201cMy family did not approve of you initially because you were older than me and an actress, which was considered taboo at the time,\u201d Parmeet shared, adding that tensions at home were high. He made his stand clear when proposals started coming his way. \u201cI clearly said that I wanted to marry the person I loved and no one else.\u201d <\/p>\n

One night, one decision, one marriage<\/p>\n

Recalling the turning point, Parmeet said, \u201cThat night, while standing on the terrace, I asked you if you wanted to start over with someone else. You said no, and I said the same. That\u2019s when I asked if we should get married.\u201d What followed was straight out of a film \u2014 a late-night drive to a temple, then an Arya Samaj mandir, and finally, a wedding the next morning on Archana\u2019s terrace. Reflecting on it, Archana said, \u201cOnce we were sure about each other, we knew we didn\u2019t want to wait any longer.\u201d Parmeet Sethi and Archana Puran Singh married in 1992 after dating for nearly eight years.
