For a while now, the Swedish powerhouse known as Ghost<\/a> has been running pretty much nonstop. World tours, the release of their latest album Skelet\u00e1, the continuance of a lore that their most devoted fanbase devours\u2026 it\u2019s a lot. Yet with the end in sight of the \u2018Skeletour,\u2019 it sounds like there\u2019s endless possibility for what\u2019s coming next.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with Canada\u2019s Global News<\/a>, Forge reiterated the previously revealed news that there wouldn\u2019t be a covers EP, despite that being a thing that happens between Ghost records. He also stood firm on the band\u2019s no phones policy at their shows. But when it came to what\u2019s next, Forge said there was very little on the docket after the currently ongoing tour.<\/p>\n

\u201cBesides the [North American leg of Skeletour] tour that we\u2019re doing now, we have nothing else planned. So the future is right now very open.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not to say there\u2019s nothing creatively he has to do or wants to do. In fact, Forge isn\u2019t even working on a non-Ghost-related project at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cCreatively, I have a lot to do. I\u2019m actually recording currently. But it\u2019s not a covers EP and it\u2019s not a new Ghost record. So, I actually do not know exactly what and when anything will happen. And that\u2019s a good thing.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

This lack of a specific idea of what\u2019s coming up for Ghost is a relatively new concept for Forge, as he admitted that the band\u2019s been \u201cgoing nonstop\u201d since 2011. With zero breaks between phases for Ghost, this potential extended time off could be a worthwhile thing for Forge and folks.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor 15 years now we\u2019ve been going at it nonstop, where cycles have basically just sort of been stitched together. Every time we\u2019ve ended an album cycle, I\u2019ve walked off stage knowing that Monday morning I will be in the studio and our next show is there\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve come to a point where I\u2019m just, like\u2026 I still have ideas, I still have dreams, I still have things that I think we have not achieved \u2014 definitely the wish list is still there \u2014 but that\u2019s gonna be at some other point.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Looking forward, Forge said what\u2019s next for Ghost is up in the air. For the first time in over a decade, there\u2019s no real huge plan. No massive itinerary or album idea that he\u2019s got on his docket. And maybe that\u2019s a good thing.<\/p>\n
