{"id":270001,"date":"2026-01-29T11:08:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T11:08:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/270001\/"},"modified":"2026-01-29T11:08:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T11:08:09","slug":"young-man-who-stole-cars-at-limerick-hotel-avoids-prison-sentence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/270001\/","title":{"rendered":"Young man who stole cars at Limerick hotel avoids prison sentence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A YOUNG man who stole two cars from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick<\/a> city hotel has avoided an immediate prison sentence.<\/p>\n<p>William Doran, aged 21, with a home address at Altamira Court, Thomondgate, came before Limerick Circuit Court on two counts of unlawfully taking a vehicle from the Strand Hotel, Ennis Road, on August 15, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Barrister John O\u2019Sullivan, prosecuting, said one of the vehicles was damaged after it was stolen, while the other was unscathed.<\/p>\n<p>READ MORE:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/politics\/1997039\/plans-progressing-for-redevelopment-of-former-limerick-bank-of-ireland-building.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Plans progressing for redevelopment of former Limerick Bank of Ireland building<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mr Doran, the court heard, was also observed driving on the wrong side of the road at Island View, Limerick and that he failed to stop for garda\u00ed on August 20, 2023.
