{"id":270385,"date":"2026-01-29T16:08:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T16:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/270385\/"},"modified":"2026-01-29T16:08:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T16:08:07","slug":"eric-to-honour-nephew-oisin-with-latest-dancing-with-the-stars-performance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/270385\/","title":{"rendered":"Eric to honour nephew Oisin with latest &#8216;Dancing with the Stars&#8217; performance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s a very special \u2018Dancing with the Stars\u2019 on RTE this Sunday night as contestants use their performance to honour a person close to them.<\/p>\n<p>Have the tissues at the ready because this Sunday the ballroom will be getting emotional with the annual Dedicated Dance special.<\/p>\n<p>The contestants will honour a person or people who have made an impact on their lives, and dedicate a dance to them.<\/p>\n<p>Proud Donegal man and Ireland AM presenter Eric Roberts will dedicate his dance to his nephew Ois\u00edn, who has cerebral palsy and autism and often features on Eric\u2019s social media.<\/p>\n<p>Ois\u00edn is a significant inspiration for Eric, who shares their adventures and celebrates his nephew\u2019s unique personality, promoting understanding of disabilities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.donegaldaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/unnamed-1.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-cGVuY2ktZ2FsbGVyeS1pbWFnZS1jb250ZW50\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-617600\" class=\"size-large wp-image-617600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/unnamed-1-1024x536.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"536\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-617600\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Eric Roberts appearing on RTE\u2019s Dancing with the Stars<\/p>\n<p>Eric will dance a Tango with partner Arianna Favaro to Coldplay\u2019s \u2018Clocks\u2019. Coldplay is Eric and Ois\u00edn\u2019s favourite band, and they have seen them in concert together.<\/p>\n<p>This special episode will honour former judge Julian Benson, who passed away in April last year. Viewers will hear from former presenter Nicky Byrne and former Head Judge Lorraine Barry, as well as current presenter Jennifer Zamparelli and judges Brian Redmond, Karen Byrne, and Arthur Gourounlian, who will share memories of their dear friend and colleague.<\/p>\n<p>The professional dancers will also honour the man endearingly named \u2018Captain Sparkle\u2019 with an emotional performance to \u2018Last Dance\u2019 by Donna Summer.<\/p>\n<p>One couple will earn immunity from the following week\u2019s first dreaded Dance-Off.
