Crystal Palace are reportedly \u2018ready to walk away\u2019 as a deal to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jorgen Strand Larsen \u2018hangs in the balance\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian forward is expected to leave Molineux in the January transfer window after attracting interest from Newcastle United last summer.<\/p>\n

Newcastle were willing to pay around \u00a360million for Strand Larsen following a strong 2024\/25 campaign in which he scored 15 Premier League goals.<\/p>\n

However, the 25-year-old\u2019s form has nosedived this season, with Wolves sitting bottom of the Premier League on only eight points from 23 games<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The striker has only registered one goal and one assist in the league, though he has fared better in cup competitions, scoring a hat-trick and providing an assist in an FA Cup victory over League Two side Shrewsbury Town, and bagging a match-winning brace against West Ham in the Carabao Cup second round.<\/p>\n

Wolves open to mid-season sale despite relegation fears<\/p>\n

Strand Larsen\u2019s poor league performances have resulted in Wolves almost halving their asking price, with the Midlands side clearly open to selling in January, as relegation looks increasingly likely.<\/p>\n

Interest this month has come from Leeds United, Crystal Palace<\/a>, Nottingham Forest, Everton, Aston Villa, and West Ham.<\/p>\n

Crystal Palace are the current frontrunners to land Strand Larsen, with Fabrizio Romano reporting earlier on Thursday that the Londoners had made an \u2018improved proposal\u2019 to beat Leeds to his signature.<\/p>\n

Oliver Glasner\u2019s side then agreed a \u00a345m plus \u00a35m in add-ons fee with Wolves<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace transfer \u2018hanging in the balance\u2019<\/p>\n

However, Sky Sports<\/a> has reported that the signing of Strand Larsen \u2018is hanging in the balance\u2019.<\/p>\n

Sky Sports News\u00a0has been told that intermediaries have communicated to\u00a0Wolves\u00a0that Palace are ready to walk away.<\/p>\n

However, other sources close to the deal insist that is not the case, and talks remain ongoing.<\/p>\n

A deal for \u00a345m plus a potential \u00a35m in add-ons was close to being agreed earlier today.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s added that Leeds \u2018remain at the table\u2019 but won\u2019t go above \u00a340m, which could become an acceptable fee before the transfer deadline on Monday night if Strand Larsen does not join the Eagles.<\/p>\n
