The first look at The Beatles<\/a> in Sam Mendes\u2019 upcoming biopics has been revealed in a series of postcards in Liverpool. Check out the posts below.<\/p>\n

The four-film series about the Fab Four is currently scheduled for a simultaneous release in April 2028. Paul Mescal<\/a> stars as Paul McCartney<\/a> alongside\u00a0Harris Dickinson (John Lennon<\/a>), Joseph Quinn (George Harrison<\/a>) and Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Mescal recently confirmed that production for the forthcoming project was still ongoing. \u201cWe\u2019re a while away from finishing,\u201d he told Variety<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s my job for all of 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

Keoghan has since revealed his new \u201960s-inspired bob haircut<\/a>, seemingly in preparation for his role of Starr.<\/p>\n

Now, official postcards showing the actors in their respective parts have been dotted around the Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts (LIPA) \u2013 which was co-founded by McCartney in 1996.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been given exclusive postcards promoting the new Beatles movies! \ud83d\udc40,\u201d LIPA wrote in a post, which shows a still of Mescal as Macca.<\/p>\n

LIPA added: \u201cWe\u2019ve hidden them around LIPA, and we want students to find them. If you spot one tag @lipaliverpool & @sonypicturesuk \ud83d\udcf8.\u201d<\/p>\n

The text on the first postcard reads: \u201cPaul Mescal is Paul McCartney.\u201d<\/p>\n

Each film of Mendes\u2019 series about The Beatles will be told from the perspective of one band member. They will also be the first-ever movies to be granted music rights to the Beatles\u2019 discography.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Mescal said fans would \u201cbenefit from knowing as little as possible\u201d about the biopics<\/a> before watching them. The actor explained that he and his co-stars were \u201cpinching ourselves\u201d over being involved in the films.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the endeavour is totally singular,\u201d he added. \u201cOn a personal level, I\u2019m so thrilled to be working on something at this scale, but also rooted in performance with Sam and great writers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mescal went on: \u201cBut also just to be living and working in London and to have some sort of stability in what has been like a kind of mad six, seven years since Normal People<\/a>\u00a0came out.\u201d<\/p>\n

He previously revealed that he\u2019d be doing his own singing for the role and had spent time with McCartney to prepare<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Irish actor has had a busy few years since breaking out with the success of\u00a0Normal People\u00a0in 2020, starring in a string of films, including\u00a0Aftersun<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0All Of Us Strangers<\/a>,\u00a0<\/a>and taking on the lead part in Gladiator II<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mescal\u2019s two latest big-screen projects are indie romance The History Of Sound<\/a>\u00a0and Chlo\u00e9\u00a0Zhao\u2019s\u00a0Oscar-nominated<\/a> Hamnet<\/a>. The latter recently won Best Drama Film at the Golden Globes 2026<\/a>, and Mescal is up for Supporting Actor for the role at this year\u2019s BAFTAs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He is currently working on Richard Linklater\u2019s adaptation of the musical\u00a0Merrily We Roll Along.<\/p>\n

Speaking to NME last November<\/a>, Giles Martin \u2013 son of legendary Beatles producer George Martin \u2013 \u00a0discussed his work on Mendes\u2019 hotly anticipated films.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m working with the actors and they\u2019re doing a really good job, that\u2019s all I can say,\u201d he told us.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe scripts are really good and brave, as opposed to being anodyne. I\u2019m on day two of shooting right now. They\u2019re all really good actors so I wouldn\u2019t advise them, but I give them nuances and share things I\u2019ve heard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mescal recently explained that he intended to \u201cration\u201d his work ahead of the release of the Beatles biopics in 2028<\/a>. \u201cPeople will get a break from me and I\u2019ll get a break from them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mia McKenna-Bruce admitted that she wasn\u2019t a fan of the band before being cast in the movie<\/a>. \u201cWe sang \u2018Eleanor Rigby\u2019 and \u2018Yellow Submarine\u2019 at school, but it wasn\u2019t my jam,\u201d she revealed.<\/p>\n

The real-life Ringo Starr said last summer that he offered \u201cextensive notes\u201d on the script<\/a>, telling\u00a0The New York Times<\/a>: \u201c[Mendes] had a writer \u2013 very good writer, great reputation, and he wrote it great, but it had nothing to do with Maureen and I. That\u2019s not how we were. I\u2019d say, \u2018We would never do that\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

In other news, Paul McCartney\u2018s new Wings\u00a0documentary\u00a0Man On The Run is due to be screened in cinemas for one night only next month<\/a>.<\/p>\n
