In the late 1990s, word came out that\u00a0Tobe Hooper<\/a>\u2018s son William Tony Hooper was going to be directing a short film called\u00a0All American Massacre, which would see\u00a0Bill Moseley<\/a>\u00a0reprising the role of Chop Top from\u00a0The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2\u00a0(get it\u00a0HERE<\/a>). What was originally expected to be a 10 to 15 minute short reportedly ended up with a running time of 60 minutes\u2026 but fans never got to see this Chop Top movie. More than twenty years after\u00a0All American Massacre\u00a0was filmed, it still hasn\u2019t been released.\u00a0But now, after many years of little to no hope, there\u2019s a ray of light shining through, as the folks at DRagonSTUDIOS \u2013 who have been working on Driller Killer 2<\/a> (featuring archival footage of Denzel Washington) and a Return of the Living Dead follow-up called Trash\u2019s Revenge<\/a> \u2013 have announced that they will be completing and releasing All American Massacre!<\/p>\n

Background<\/p>\n

All American Massacre\u00a0is set years after\u00a0The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and would feature flashbacks to Chop Top\u2019s time with his family before the events of the first movie.\u00a0Incarcerated for years in solitary confinement at a Texas psychiatric hospital, one of the most notorious killers of the past century is interviewed by a tabloid news crew, recalling fond memories of happier times in his younger years.\u00a0Moseley was joined in the cast by Greg Herger as Grandpa, Todd Bates as a younger Chop Top and his twin brother the Hitch-Hiker, Stephan Lokotsch as Steven, Danielle Burgio as Nikki, and Buckethead as Leatherface.<\/p>\n

The making and scrapping of\u00a0All American Massacre\u00a0is so intriguing, there was even a documentary made about it, called\u00a0In Search of All American Massacre: The Lost Texas Chainsaw Film.<\/p>\n

Update<\/p>\n

DRagonSTUDIOS has launched a CineBacker campaign<\/a> with a \u00a375,000 goal to fund their completion and release of All American Massacre. As of this writing, \u00a311,635 has been raised, with 28 days to go.<\/p>\n

The company writes, \u201cThe original footage has been meticulously restored. The audio has been remixed. New footage has been shot, and major stars from some of horror\u2019s most iconic cult films will join the original cast, expanding and completing the vision of the original production and, at last, delivering the film audiences were promised decades ago.\u201c<\/p>\n

One of the new cast members is Miguel A. N\u00fa\u00f1ez Jr. of The Return of the Living Dead and Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, who previously worked with DRagonSTUDIOS on Trash\u2019s Revenge.<\/p>\n
