Reliance Industries<\/a> led a $50 million (Rs 435 crore) funding round at spacetech firm Digantara<\/a>, according to a filing by the Bengaluru-based startup with the Registrar of Companies.<\/p>\n

The round, which valued Digantara at around $200 million, also saw participation from the likes of 360 One Asset, Tokyo-based asset management firm SBI<\/a> Holdings and UpGrad founder Ronnie Screwvala, along with existing backers Peak XV Partners and Kalaari Capital, which the company had announced last month.<\/p>\n

In July 2025, ET had reported<\/a> that the firm was in advanced talks to raise funds from Reliance Industries<\/a> as a lead investor.<\/p>\n

The IISc-incubated startup uses proprietary technology to track fast-moving objects in space from space, including satellites, debris and other objects. Its space camera for object tracking can track objects at a resolution of up to five centimetres, compared with an industry standard of around 10 cm.<\/p>\n

The startup is focused on serving the defence markets<\/a> of India, the US, the UK, Singapore, Australia and Japan, and plans to expand into Europe by mid-2026, founder Anirudh Sharma had told ET<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The fresh funds will be used for global expansion, especially in the US, given announcements of the Golden Dome missile system\u2014a multi-layered US missile defence system that aims to integrate ground, sea, air and space-based technologies. Digantara was among the companies selected for the programme<\/p>\n

Part of the capital will be used to increase production and building satellite manufacturing<\/a> capability. Digantara currently has three satellites in orbit. The first two missions focused on space weather, while the latest focused on space object tracking<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Spacetech has seen increased interest from venture capital funds over the past year. In November 2025, Agnikul Cosmos raised $17 million<\/a> in a funding round that valued the company at $500 million.
