Erling Haaland has paid almost \u00a317million in tax over the last 12 months. The Norwegian, who is reported to earn a basic salary of \u00a3500,000 per week, tops the Sunday Times Football<\/a> Tax List ahead of Liverpool<\/a> forward Mohamed Salah<\/a>.<\/p>\n Haaland reportedly earned an additional \u00a310m in image rights and bonus payments. The 25-year-old signed a new long-term deal with City<\/a> last January through to 2034.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Salah paid \u00a314.5m in tax over the last 12 months. According to the Times, the Egyptian earns a \u00a3400,000 per-week basic salary and earned at least another \u00a310 million a year from bonuses and image rights payments..<\/p>\n The revelation emerges during a challenging campaign for Salah, who was dropped from the squad for the Champions League<\/a> victory over Inter Milan in December after stating he no longer had a relationship with head coach Arne Slot<\/a> and that he had been “thrown under the bus”<\/a> following a draw away to Leeds.<\/p>\n Salah quickly rejoined the team after discussions with the manager and following an apology to his colleagues. United confirmed last week that Casemiro will depart the club when his contract runs out at the season’s close.<\/p>\n Raheem Sterling<\/a>, who on Wednesday terminated his Chelsea<\/a> contract by mutual agreement, contributed \u00a39.8m in tax. That was \u00a3100,000 ahead of Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bruno Fernandes<\/a> and Bernardo Silva, of Manchester United<\/a> and Manchester City<\/a> respectively, were level on \u00a39m.<\/p>\n Salah would pay no tax if he moved to Saudi Arabia(Image: Getty Images)<\/p>\n The tax list was topped by bookmakers Betfred, who contributed \u00a3400m to the public finances, the equivalent of almost \u00a31.1m a day.
