Killarney\u2019s Ruair\u00ed O\u2019Flaherty could very well wake up on Monday morning and be able to proudly call himself a Grammy winner with the 2025 Grammy Awards \u2013 aka the biggest night in music \u2013 set to take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles this Sunday night, February 1.<\/p>\n
Ruair\u00ed, a senior master engineer at the acclaimed Sterling Sound studio in the United States, is part of teams that have received four nominations at this year\u2019s awards.<\/p>\n
He has received credits across several of the ceremony\u2019s most prestigious categories, including Album of the Year nominations for GNX by Kendrick Lamar and Man\u2019s Best Friend by Sabrina Carpenter. He is also associated with Record of the Year nominations for \u201cManchild\u201d by Sabrina Carpenter and \u201cluther\u201d by Kendrick Lamar and SZA.<\/p>\n
In his role as a mastering engineer, Ruair\u00ed plays a vital role in shaping the final sound of recordings, working to ensure that the final product is of the highest possible audio quality before it is released.<\/p>\n
The latest nominations follow a successful 2025 Grammy season, during which the Killarney man was recognised for his work on Sabrina Carpenter\u2019s Short n\u2019 Sweet and St. Vincent\u2019s All Born Screaming. Over the course of his career, he has also mastered music for a wide range of internationally renowned artists, including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X and Doja Cat.<\/p>\n
