Ryan Reynolds was called out for being \u201crude\u201d and \u201ccondescending\u201d following his recent interaction with a child reporter at the Toronto International Film Festival.<\/p>\n

In video circulating on social media, Reynolds appeared to tell a dismissive joke to the child while walking the red carpet at the premiere of \u201cJohn Candy: I Like Me\u201d Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is nothing funny about this. Kids do not understand these types of \u2018jokes\u2019 where the person is being rude to them. It\u2019s called being mean,\u201d someone tweeted, alongside a clip of the interaction<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s one thing to joke with an adult but a kid won\u2019t get what he believes are jokes,\u201d the original tweet\u2019s creator continued<\/a> in response to another commenter calling the \u201cDeadpool\u201d star \u201cmanner less.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRyan and Blake are so condescending and mean to people they deem \u2018beneath them,’\u201d said one netizen<\/a>, referring to Reynolds\u2019 wife, Blake Lively, who has come under fire<\/a> for past interviews amid her ongoing legal feud with Justin Baldoni. <\/a><\/p>\n

Another angle of the interview<\/a> showed Reynolds appearing confused when he first stopped to talk to the young kid. He then dropped to get face to face with the reporter, who started by greeting Reynolds and saying, \u201cHi Ryan, nice to meet you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cProposal\u201d actor, 48, wasted no time after his greeting and proceeded to jokingly tell the child, \u201cLet\u2019s skip to the question.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though, Reynolds put on a more sensitive tone when answering the child\u2019s question about his Tim Hortons breakfast sandwich.<\/p>\n

The negative comments regarding Reynolds come amid Lively\u2019s claims that Baldoni, his Wayfarer Studios and his PR team launched a smear campaign<\/a> against her in retaliation because of her accusations of sexual harassment toward the \u201cIt Ends With Us\u2019 director.<\/p>\n

Last month, the text messages and emails allegedly proving Baldoni\u2019s involvement in the scheme were unsealed by the federal judge<\/a> presiding over their case.<\/p>\n
