Kim Gordon<\/a>\u00a0has announced details of a headline UK and European tour to take place in April \u2013 see the dates below.<\/p>\n

The former\u00a0Sonic Youth<\/a>\u00a0bassist and vocalist\u00a0announced\u00a0earlier this month that\u00a0her third solo album \u2018Play Me\u2019 will be released on March 13<\/a>\u00a0via Matador Records, and\u00a0you can visit here to pre-order it<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, she has shared details of an eight-date trek around Europe for the following month, which will kick off on April 11 at the Rewire Festival in The Hague. The dates will include a huge show at London\u2019s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on April 14, before the dates finally wrap up in Warsaw on April 21.<\/p>\n

Gordon has also shared the lead single from \u2018Play Me\u2019,\u00a0in the form of \u2018Not Today\u2019,\u00a0which you can check out above.<\/p>\n

According to a press release, the new album is both \u201cdistilled and immediate\u201d,\u00a0and\u00a0sees the artist expanding her musical horizons to include more-melodic beats, alongside the motorik drive of krautrock.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted the songs to be short,\u201d Gordon said, discussing the collaboration with producer Justin\u00a0Raisen\u00a0(Charli XCX<\/a>,\u00a0Sky Ferreira<\/a>,\u00a0Yves Tumor<\/a>). \u201cWe wanted to do it really fast. It\u2019s more focused, and maybe more confident. I always kind of work off of rhythms, and I knew I wanted it to be even more beat-oriented than the last one. Justin really gets my voice and my lyrics and he understands how I work\u2014that came forth even more on this record.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Play Me\u2019 follows on from Gordon\u2019s 2019 debut solo album\u00a0\u2018No Home Record\u2019<\/a>, as well as from her more daring 2024 sophomore album, \u2018The Collective<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n
