Tate McRae<\/a> has made her Grammy Awards debut.<\/p>\n

The singer walked the red carpet minutes before the ceremony began, looking striking in a monochrome black ensemble from Balenciaga. Up top, a strapless bodice looked like it was molded to her body. Short in the front and long in the back, it trailed behind her as she walked.<\/p>\n

The piece was paired with a pleated maxi skirt that looked like fur, or deconstructed strands of fabric. And to zhuzh things up, McRae slipped on some leather opera gloves and a gleaming diamond necklace that matched her earrings.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a big night for the \u201cSports Car\u201d singer<\/a>, who is a first-time attendee and a first-time nominee. McRae is up for an award in the Best Dance Pop Recording category for her track \u201cJust Keep Watching\u201d from the film F1.<\/p>\n

Despite this being her first Grammys, the pop star<\/a> has participated in related Recording Academy events. Last year, she headlined an intimate Grammy U event in Los Angeles, where she performed acoustic versions of her hits \u201cRevolving Door\u201d and \u201cGreenlight\u201d and even discussed the creative process behind her album So Close to What with collaborators Amy Allen and Grant Boutin.<\/p>\n

And in 2023, McRae was featured in The Drop<\/a>, a series hosted by the Grammy Museum that spotlights emerging and established artists.<\/p>\n

McRae has been releasing music since 2020. While she has three studio albums, she has also released several EPs and singles. In 2023, she was notably snubbed from the Grammys despite the success of her song \u201cGreedy.\u201d She also became ineligible for the Best New Artist category after being submitted for consideration three times without receiving a nomination.
