The Recording Academy paid tribute to those who died in the last year.<\/p>\n

Ozzy Osbourne, D’Angelo, Roberta Flack and more were among the artists honored during the 2026 Grammy Awards In Memoriam segment<\/p>\n

The 2026 Grammy Awards are airing live on CBS from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will be available to stream on Paramount+<\/p>\n

The Recording Academy paid tribute to those who are no longer with us this year.<\/p>\n

To kick off the\u00a02026 Grammy Awards<\/a>\u00a0annual In Memoriam segment, Reba McEntire<\/a>, Brandy Clark<\/a> and Lukas Nelson<\/a> also paid tribute to Brett James, Alan Bergman, Sheila Jordan, Roy Ayers, Jimmy Cliff, Malcolm Jamal-Warner, Chuck Mangione and more with “Trailblazer.”<\/p>\n

One of the names flashing behind McEntire, 70, as she sang was her late former stepson, Brandon Blackstock<\/a>, who died in August 2025<\/a> at age 48 from cancer.<\/p>\n

Their set was followed by Post Malone<\/a>, Slash<\/a>, Duff McKagan<\/a> and Andrew Watt<\/a>, who took the stage to perform “War Pigs” in honor of Ozzy Osbourne.<\/a> During the set, Kelly<\/a>, Sharon<\/a> and Jack Osbourne<\/a>\u00a0appeared visibly emotional and moved by the tribute to the late rocker.<\/p>\n

Afterward, Lauryn Hill<\/a> honored D’Angelo<\/a> with her song, “Nothing Even Matters” and was joined by Lucky Daye<\/a> for “Brown Sugar.” Raphael Saadiq and Anthony Hamilton performed “Lady,” and Leon Thomas<\/a> then played a rendition of “Devil’s Pie.” Later, Bilal sang \u201cUntitled (How Does It Feel)\u201d and Jon Batiste<\/a> closed the stretch with \u201cAfrica.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hill, 50, and Batiste, 39, then honored Roberta Flack<\/a> with the late singer’s “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” and followed by her and Wyclef Jean<\/a>‘s rendition of “Killing Me Softly.”<\/p>\n

Brian Wilson<\/a> was also honored in his own special video tribute narrated by Bruce Springsteen<\/a>, and likewise John Mayer<\/a> paid tribute to Bob Weir<\/a> in a separate video. The awards show also paid tribute to the late Sly Stone.<\/a><\/p>\n

During last year’s annual In Memoriam segment<\/a>, Coldplay frontman\u00a0Chris Martin<\/a>\u00a0took the stage to perform the band’s “All My Love” with a four-string orchestra.<\/p>\n

While Martin, now 48, was singing at the piano, a special video of\u00a0Liam Payne<\/a> kicked off the evening’s tributes.<\/p>\n

Additional names featured were\u00a0Kris Kristofferson<\/a>,\u00a0Cissy Houston<\/a>,\u00a0Dickey Betts<\/a>,\u00a0Fatman Scoop<\/a>,\u00a0Rich Homie Quan<\/a>,\u00a0Wayne Osmond<\/a>,\u00a0Toby Keith<\/a>\u00a0and many more.<\/p>\n

There was also a special performance dedicated to the late\u00a0Quincy Jones<\/a>, who\u00a0died\u00a0in November 2024 at the age of 91.<\/a> Artists including Stevie Wonder<\/a>, Herbie Hancock, Jaco Collier, Lainey Wilson<\/a> and Janelle Mon\u00e1e<\/a> also paid tribute to the late industry icon.<\/p>\n
