At a star-studded event like the Grammys, it can be hard for one person to grab an entire room\u2019s attention, but that\u2019s a certainty whenever Cher<\/a> walks in.<\/p>\n

Tonight, the musical legend made a surprise appearance at the 2026 Grammys<\/a> to accept her Lifetime Achievement Award. And she did so in a black-lace, see-through gown. The naked dress featured a layer of leather strands arranged in a deconstructed manner, and the musical legend wore it with a cropped black leather jacket and some glossy boots.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew what I wanted to be when I was five years old,\u201d the pop icon said in her acceptance speech, before recalling her biggest milestones in her decades-long career and encouraging her fellow singers to never give up on their dreams.<\/p>\n

Prior to the ceremony, it was revealed that Cher would be honored with one of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards, joining fellow artists Carlos Santana, Chaka Khan, Fela Kuti, Paul Simon, and Whitney Houston.<\/p>\n

First established in 1962, this annual prize is awarded to \u201cperformers who, during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.\u201d<\/p>\n

This marks a second Grammy win for Cher, whose \u201cBelieve\u201d took home the prize for Best Dance Recording back in 2000. Since her first nomination, all the way back in 1966, for Best New Artist (as a part of the duo Sonny & Cher, with Sonny Bono), Cher has received a total of seven Grammy nods.<\/p>\n

Over the years, she\u2019s made quite a few memorable appearances on the red carpet too. In fact, here at Harper\u2019s Bazaar, we named her 1974 outfit\u2014which consisted of a butterfly bikini top and sheer shawl\u2014one of the 50 best Grammy Awards looks of all time<\/a>.
