Darren Fletcher<\/a> had initially stepped in as caretaker for two matches with the United first-team<\/a> squad after the club sacked Ruben Amorim<\/a> from his role last month.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim became Man Utd manager<\/a> only in 2024 and had overseen a turbulent 14-month reign in the Old Trafford hot seat after his exit from Sporting CP.<\/p>\n

Michael Carrick\u2019s appointment as the club\u2019s interim boss has provided Ineos<\/a> and Sir Jim Ratcliffe<\/a> with the time needed to find Amorim\u2019s long-term successor at Man Utd<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Manchester United<\/a> have already been linked with several managers in recent weeks, including England boss Thomas Tuchel<\/a> and Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Both Roy Keane<\/a> and Gary Neville<\/a> have ruled out fellow Man Utd legend Michael Carrick from receiving the head coach role on a permanent basis in the summer.<\/p>\n

The two United legends have voiced their feelings on bringing in an experienced manager, but Micah Richards<\/a> does not share the same view as Keane and Neville.<\/p>\n

Speaking on The Rest Is Football<\/a> podcast, Richards said: \u201cYou know what, guys? So, there\u2019s, obviously, I work with Roy Keane and I work with Gary Neville. Respect them greatly.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd their opinion on it is, you have to get the best person for the job in terms of what they\u2019ve done in the past.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, they just want an out-and-out winner. Tuchel\u2019s been mentioned a lot. If he goes and wins the World Cup with England, I mean, that would be great for Man Utd.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I see a lot of people comparing him [Carrick] to [Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer. When I don\u2019t think it\u2019s the same.\u201d<\/p>\n

Micah Richards is ready to see Michael Carrick become the next permanent Man Utd manager<\/p>\n

Richards dismissed the comparisons between Carrick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer<\/a>, who was initially caretaker manager before he was permanently appointed at Man Utd.<\/p>\n

\u201cCarrick, I think he\u2019s got a little bit more than Solskjaer,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe speaks well. He\u2019s very calm. He did all the things that we were crying out for in terms of the system, playing players in the right positions and they won three in three.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot to forget his record before as well, when he came in as interim. So, I said, they\u2019ve got a big conundrum with Carrick because how I see it, I feel he\u2019ll do really well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richards added that Carrick should be considered for the role permanently if United continue to play well under him and secure Champions League football.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I would like to see him as a manager, because as long as he keeps this, if he loses the next three on the bounce, I mean,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils are now fourth in the table after Man Utd defeated Fulham 3-2<\/a> in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n
