People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals didn\u2019t hold back in its criticism of Sabrina Carpenter\u2019s appearance at the Grammys<\/a> on Sunday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At one point during her performance<\/a> of the song \u201cManchild,\u201d the 26-year-old pop star entered an airplane prop during her aviation-themed act and held a white dove.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shortly after, PETA condemned Carpenter in a statement on X.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cDid [Sabrina Carpenter] really just bring a bird on stage in 2026?! The Manchild singer is giving childlike behavior. Leave animals out of the #GRAMMYs,\u201d the organization wrote alongside an image of the singer holding the bird during her set.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Above the image of Carpenter, PETA appeared to reference her \u201cManchild\u201d lyrics with the comment: \u201cHEY SABRINA, BRINGING A LIVE BIRD ONTO THE GRAMMYS STAGE IS STUPID, SLOW, USELESS … AND CRUEL!\u00a0Bright lights, loud noise, and handling cause fear and distress for a bird who belongs flying free in the open sky.\u201d<\/p>\n

PETA and reps for Carpenter didn\u2019t immediately respond to HuffPost\u2019s requests for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

PETA has also criticized other celebrities in the past. Late last year, PETA called out Kim Kardashian<\/a> for giving each of her and Kanye West\u2019s young children \u2014 North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm \u2014 their own Pomeranian puppies for Christmas.\u00a0The animal rights organization blasted the reality TV star\u2019s older sister Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian, for buying a black Labrador puppy for her kids, True and Tatum, for the holiday.<\/p>\n

\u201cPuppies are not plushies, and it\u2019s a **** shame that Kim missed the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter pups and instead is being rightly slammed on social media for that,\u201d PETA\u2019s founder Ingrid Newkirk said in a statement.<\/a><\/p>\n

Newkirk called their gifts \u201cinexcusably callous\u201d and suggested that they \u201ccall PETA or a local shelter the next time they want to bring an animal into their home.\u201d<\/p>\n
