Suddenly, only four teams remain in the 2026 Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup.<\/p>\n
Unsurprisingly, an accomplished UL outfit are in the mix, but Brian Ryan’s charges will afford University of Galway the utmost respect.<\/p>\n
University of Galway, managed by former Clare star Frank Lohan, have shown some encouraging glimpses in the competition.<\/p>\n
When SETU Waterford posed questions in the last eight, University of Galway found the answers with Sam O’Farrell, Gavin Lee, and Darragh Neary influential figures in that success.<\/p>\n
UL, though, had to show resilience themselves because UCC were determined opponents last week, also.<\/p>\n
Nonetheless, UL carved out a victory with Darragh McCarthy landing nine points, while Adam English and Adam Screeney nailed important scores when necessary.<\/p>\n
In the capital, DCU D\u00f3chas \u00c9ireann’s meeting with MICL should be a lively encounter.<\/p>\n
MTU Cork had enjoyed a productive group phase, but DCU D\u00f3chas \u00c9ireann struck four goals in a splendid success.<\/p>\n
Substitute Luke Murphy mined a critical goal, while Denis Walsh and Conor Beirne were prominent figures for DCU D\u00f3chas \u00c9ireann.<\/p>\n
Despite missing some key players through injury, MICL delivered a competent display to defeat UCD.<\/p>\n
