{"id":281353,"date":"2026-02-05T02:41:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-05T02:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/281353\/"},"modified":"2026-02-05T02:41:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T02:41:08","slug":"january-jobs-report-will-be-released-on-feb-11-after-shutdown-delay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/281353\/","title":{"rendered":"January jobs report will be released on Feb. 11 after shutdown delay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A &#8216;help wanted&#8217; advertisement is displayed in Manhattan on Jan. 9, 2026, in New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Spencer Platt | Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The January jobs report delayed by the brief government shutdown will be released next week, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The closely watched report now will come out Feb. 11, five days later than its original release date, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/bls\/2025-lapse-revised-release-dates.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">revised schedule<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the BLS will release the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey on Thursday, after it originally had been scheduled for Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>There are other delays as well. <\/p>\n<p>The consumer price index for January now will be released on Feb. 13, two days later than its original release date. A companion release, which computes real earnings, will be subject to the same delay.<\/p>\n<p>Economists surveyed by Dow Jones expect the nonfarm payrolls report to show a gain of 60,000 jobs for the month, following an increase of 50,000 in December. The report also is projected to show that the unemployment rate held steady at 4.4%.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier Wednesday, payrolls processing firm ADP reported that companies <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/02\/04\/adp-jobs-report-january-2026.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">added just 22,000 jobs<\/a> in January.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A &#8216;help wanted&#8217; advertisement is displayed in Manhattan on Jan. 9, 2026, in New York City.
