Roscommon with \u20ac24,685.<\/p>\n<p>At the other end of the scale, Dublin had the highest disposable income per person at \u20ac33,889 per person, well above the national average of \u20ac30,139. Limerick recorded the second-highest figure at \u20ac30,879, followed by Cork at \u20ac30,748.<\/p>\n<p>READ NEXT:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.donegallive.ie\/news\/local-news\/2007182\/donegal-cancer-flights-services-will-do-all-they-can-to-maintain-current-flights.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Donegal Cancer Flights &amp; Services will do all they can to maintain current flights<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Donegal also had the third-highest social benefits per capita with \u20ac8,827 per person, according to the CSO data.<\/p>\n<p>Over a third (35%) of all employed people in Ireland worked in the Dublin area in 2024, followed by Cork with 12% and Galway with 6%.<\/p>\n<p>Personal finance expert and founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/honest.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">honest.ie<\/a> Dan Malone said that the figures remind us that where we live can influence our income, but good financial habits can make a real difference regardless of location.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a nation, we&#8217;re currently saving \u20ac1 out of every \u20ac7 that we make, but it&#8217;s going to the wrong places,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c86% of Irish household cash is sitting idle in current account or demand deposit accounts losing -1.91% per year after taxes and inflation.
