Zayn Malik<\/a> has announced his fifth studio album\u00a0KONNAKOL, with his lead single set to be released this Friday.<\/p>\n

The former One Direction<\/a> singer, 33, has confirmed the new record will be available to buy and stream on April 17.<\/p>\n

KONNAKOL’s lead single Die For Me will be released this Friday, February 6, while fans can pre-order the album now.<\/p>\n

Zayn’s\u00a0South Asian\u00a0heritage has shaped the new album, with its artwork illustrating half of the singer’s face lined up with the face of a snow leopard, a profound symbol of the region.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the new tracks, Zayn said:\u00a0‘It’s that time again, I have been lucky enough to make a fifth studio album\u2026 KONNAKOL in its definition is the act of creating percussive sounds with one’s voice but what it means to me lies somewhere much deeper.<\/p>\n

‘It is a sound that holds the reverberation of a time before words existed. I have always drawn on my heritage for inspiration since I first started making my own music, this album is a development of that understanding, knowing more now than ever, who I am, where I come from and where I intend to go.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fans who had attended Zayn’s recently wrapped Las Vegas residency were treated to an early release of material from the new album.<\/p>\n

Zayn’s fourth album Room Under The Stairs was released in 2024, which was followed by the hitmaker’s first ever solo tour.<\/a><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, news of his new record comes after his former bandmates\u00a0Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson both topped the UK Singles and Album charts respectively last Friday – 15 years after the band’s first single What Makes You Beautiful hit Number One.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Harry’s new song Aperture, from his upcoming fourth solo album Kiss All The Time, Disco, Occasionally, marks the 31-year-old’s third UK chart topper.<\/a><\/p>\n

Meanwhile How Did I Get Here? is Louis’ third solo studio album and has hit Number One like all of its predecessors.<\/p>\n

And if that wasn\u2019t enough Harry’s former chart-topper As It Was re-entered the Top 40 at Number 28 for the first time since 2024.<\/p>\n

Celebrating the feat, Harry posed proudly with his award as fans wait anxiously for the release of his album on March 6.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Zayn recently took a swipe at Harry with a jibe about \u2018ticket prices\u2019 after he was branded \u2018greedy\u2019 and \u2018out of touch\u2019 by furious fans.<\/a><\/p>\n

Harry dropped the pre-sale tickets for his seven city global residency, called Together, Together, last week and left fans outraged by the staggering prices.<\/p>\n

Zayn called the Watermelon Sugar singer out for the cost of his tickets, which range from \u00a344 ($60.80) to a staggering \u00a3725 ($1,000) for his London leg of the tour.<\/p>\n

During his Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live last Wednesday, the Pillowtalk hitmaker made the comment while speaking to the crowd in between his songs.<\/p>\n

Dressed in a smart white blazer, Zayn joked: ‘Hopefully the ticket prices weren’t too high… just saying.’<\/p>\n
