Iarnr\u00f3d \u00c9ireann has said some of their services have resumed, with rail services in a \u201cbetter situation\u201d than yesterdaySome of Met \u00c9ireann<\/a>\u2019s weather warnings for various counties have been rolled back by a few hours. Dublin<\/a> and Wicklow\u2019s<\/a> warnings have been changed to expire at 9am, alongside Waterford<\/a>.Louth<\/a> now expires at 12pm as well as Cavan<\/a>, Monaghan<\/a> and Meath<\/a>.Yellow warnings will be in place for Carlow<\/a>, Kildare<\/a>, Kilkenny<\/a>, Laois<\/a>, Wexford<\/a> and Tipperary<\/a> until 9am.Antrim<\/a>,\u00a0Armagh<\/a>,\u00a0Down<\/a>,\u00a0Tyrone<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Derry<\/a>\u00a0are also under status yellow rain warnings issued by the UK Met Office until 11.59pm Friday.The\u00a0National Emergency Coordination Group<\/a>\u00a0urged people in Dublin,\u00a0Louth, Wicklow and Waterford to work from home<\/a> on Friday if possible.A number of rail services were cancelled on Thursday due to flooding and debris on several lines.<\/p>\n

Rail services are in a \u201cbetter situation\u201d than yesterday, according to an Irish Rail spokeswoman, with full services expected to resume on Friday.<\/p>\n

Jane Cregan said water has receded on some lines that experienced \u201cvery bad flooding\u201d on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Dart services are now operating between Greystones and Howth after flooding abated, she said, though there are \u201cminor delays\u201d to services on the line.<\/p>\n

The line between Greystones and Wicklow, meanwhile, is closed due to debris and flooding on the line, with a bus transfer operating on the route.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re in a better situation than we were yesterday, but we do still have some minor impacts,\u201d she said, speaking on RT\u00c9 Radio\u2019s Morning Ireland.<\/p>\n

Weather warnings are to finish early as rain is moving north \u201cquicker than anticipated\u201d, according to meterologist Mark Bowe.<\/p>\n

Speaking on RT\u00c9 Radio\u2019s Morning Ireland, Bowe said that while this signifies the end of \u201cpersistent and heavy rain\u201d, localised and river flooding impacts \u201cwill still persist\u201d after the warnings cease.<\/p>\n

Parts of Louth experienced the heaviest rainfall overnight, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe certainly saw some very heavy rain right across parts of the east in the Wicklow Mountains, and certainly parts of the northeast around Louth,\u201d he said, adding that it \u201cstarted to taper off\u201d overnight.<\/p>\n

Iarnr\u00f3d \u00c9ireann has said some of their services have resumed, including DARTs between Greystones and Clongriffin, in both directions. The Belfast and Northern Commuter is also resuming, albeit with \u201csignificant delays\u201d expected.<\/p>\n

Some of the weather warnings for various counties have been rolled back by a few hours in the latest update by Met \u00c9ireann on its website. <\/p>\n

Dublin and Wicklow\u2019s warnings have been changed to expire at 9am. <\/p>\n

Louth now expires at 12pm as well as Cavan, Monaghan and Meath. <\/p>\n

The National Emergency Coordination Group<\/a> (NECG) urged people in Dublin, Louth<\/a>, Wicklow and Waterford<\/a>, all under orange rainfall warnings, to work from home on Friday if possible.<\/p>\n

The NECG is due to meet again at noon on Friday. The meeting will also be attended by a humanitarian subgroup and a Liffey catchment area subgroup.<\/p>\n

Local authorities said yesterday that they had made sandbags available to homes and businesses most at risk of flooding.<\/p>\n

South Dublin County Council reports that its crews were continuing to monitor river levels overnight, with river levels remaining high and rain falling on saturated ground.<\/p>\n

More transport disruption<\/p>\n

A number of Bus \u00c9ireann routes have been cancelled.<\/p>\n

There are cancellations on Route NX from Dublin to Navan and Navan to Dublin, Route 109X from Dublin to Cavan and Cavan to Dublin, Route 109 from Kells to Dublin, and Route 115 from Dublin to Enfield and Enfield to Dublin.<\/p>\n

The operator apologised for any inconvenience and urged passengers to check its website and social media channels for further information and updates.<\/p>\n

A number of train and DART services have been suspended due to the weather conditions and flooding. Bus transfers are available, and Iarnr\u00f3d \u00c9ireann is reminding people that LEAP cards are valid on all TFI services in the affected areas. <\/p>\n

Additionally, the Malahide to Howth Junction DART and Northern Commuter are suspended due to a mechanical fault with a maintenance vehicle, which Iarnr\u00f3d \u00c9ireann are working to rectify. Bus transfers available from Rosslare \/ Gorey to Wicklow \/ Bray, with debris and flooding on line.<\/p>\n

Timings for weather warnings across the country <\/p>\n

The Status Orange warning for Waterford is due to end at 9am this morning, while the Orange warnings for Dublin and Wicklow expire at 3pm.<\/p>\n

Met \u00c9ireann updated weather forecast<\/p>\n

Met \u00c9ireann\u2019s latest forecast, updated at 5am this morning, says it will be a very wet, cloudy and blustery morning, with rain continuing to spread north. <\/p>\n

Rain is expected to be heaviest in the east and northeast with the continued risk of flooding.<\/p>\n

It will stay rather overcast into the afternoon as the rain becomes confined to Ulster and scattered showers follow in from the south, the forecaster said.<\/p>\n

The forecast shows it\u2019s due to stay cloudy and rather wet with scattered showers into the night, with showers will at their heaviest and most persistent across Munster. There\u2019ll be asterly breezes and lows of 3 to 6 degrees with some mist patches forming overnight too.<\/p>\n
