Mark Ruffalo, an actor and outspoken critic<\/a> of the Trump administration\u2019s approach to immigration, hit back at Kevin O\u2019Leary after the Shark Tank reality TV star criticized Billie Eilish\u2019s anti-ICE Grammys<\/a> acceptance speech<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Shortly after Eilish used her platform to reach millions across the globe, O\u2019Leary appeared on Fox News to bash celebrities who get political. \u201cHalf the people in\u00a0politics\u00a0that you piss off won\u2019t buy your music anymore,\u201d O\u2019Leary said on Tuesday. \u201cIt\u2019s the first lesson 101 for celebrity: As you rise up, whether you\u2019re a film star, a music star [or] whatever, shut your mouth and just entertain.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ruffalo defended Eilish\u2019s speech in a Threads post<\/a> on Thursday, Feb. 5. \u201cKevin O\u2019Leary why don\u2019t you STFU. When accepting the award for Song of the Year for \u201cWildflower\u201d at the 2026 Grammys<\/a> on Sunday, Eilish condemned ICE and spoke up for the rights of immigrants. \u201cNo one is illegal on stolen land,\u201d Eilish said during her speech. \u201cIt\u2019s really hard to know what to say and what to do right now\u2026 I just I feel really hopeful in this room, and I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting, and our voices really do matter, and the people matter.\u201d Eilish then declared, \u201cFuck ICE,\u201d before walking off stage.<\/p>\n

Her brother and collaborator Finneas, whose own response was included in Ruffalo\u2019s post, also defended<\/a> his sister against criticism following her comments at the ceremony. \u201cSeeing a lot of very powerful old white men outraged about what my 24 year old sister said during her acceptance speech,\u201d he wrote on Threads<\/a>. \u201cWe can literally see your names in the\u00a0Epstein<\/a>\u00a0files.\u201d<\/p>\n
