The top jockey talks DRF, Mark Walsh and his chances at Newbury on Saturday from five booked rides <\/p>\n

<\/a>ON replacing Mark Walsh\u2026<\/p>\n

Mark\u2019s a very sound bloke and an unbelievable rider. It was great to see him win on all of those horses at Leopardstown. He didn\u2019t leave anything out there! He was fantastic over the whole of the Dublin Racing Festival.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t get the feeling that I\u2019m the bad guy [in replacing Walsh] and I sleep pretty well at night. It is what it is! I had a nice chat with Mark the other day about it all and he\u2019s very sound about the whole situation.<\/p>\n

I wish Mark the best of luck from now until the end of the season. He\u2019s a top man and he\u2019ll ride lots of winners for the foreseeable future. I\u2019m just really looking forward to next season now.<\/p>\n

Saturday rides\u202613:00 \u2013 Sober Glory<\/a> (Best chance)<\/p>\n

There\u2019s lots of 1\u2032 next to Sober Glory\u2019s name but there\u2019s one \u20184\u2019, and I\u2019m the only man to get him beat! It\u2019s a nice enough race for him on Saturday and he\u2019s the class horse in the race. He\u2019s far superior to the rest on ratings so hopefully he can do the business.<\/p>\n

Meetmebythesea has got a fair bit to find on ratings so this is a tough ask for him. He looks like he\u2019ll handle the ground fine but I don\u2019t know a great deal about him! He\u2019s got plenty to do but they wouldn\u2019t have chucked him in there for no reason. I haven\u2019t spoken to Ben Pauling yet to put a plan together.<\/p>\n

Lulamba obviously tops the betting and if you\u2019re a staying on second or third and can kick on from that \u2013 then we\u2019ve done well.<\/p>\n

Tutti Quanti should handle the ground but the obvious question mark is the weight as it\u2019s a lot. You don\u2019t usually see too many topweights win these sort of races.<\/p>\n

We know he acts well round this course and he\u2019s a good stayer which will be needed on Saturday. Although it\u2019s only two miles, he\u2019ll need to stay further. He could be better than his mark of 138 and while we haven\u2019t seen that yet, he\u2019s relatively young and improving.<\/p>\n

The Skelton horse Let It Rain looks very hard to beat as it looks like she\u2019s been mapped out for this race, but Tutti Quanti is in good form and I\u2019m looking forward to riding him.<\/p>\n

It was sickening to lose on Captain Bellamy last time out at Newbury because we were very unlucky in that race. A few things went wrong and he was hanging left going up the home straight. He\u2019s gone up 3lbs for that run to a mark of 121. It\u2019s a competitive race but it\u2019s winnable.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m riding Trojan Tale for Dan Horsford in the last. Dan is a nice guy and he\u2019s new to the training ranks and he\u2019s done well so far this season.<\/p>\n

Trojan Tale looks like he\u2019ll love the ground. It was pretty soft at Wincanton when he won there last month. It\u2019s a competitive race and we obviously don\u2019t know how good he is.<\/p>\n

Hopefully he can do well for his relatively small yard. I\u2019ve been booked for this ride for a fair while.<\/p>\n
