They decided to meet up for the first time to get a workout in together before spending money on dinner. But is it a convenient way to knock out a first date and a workout\u00a0or just plain weird? Women shared split opinions on the unconventional date location.<\/p>\n In a video with around 2,000 views, TikToker Hayley Serna (@hayley_serna) sits in her car in workout clothes on her way to the gym date.<\/p>\n \u201cI have a gym date right now. How do we feel about that?\u201d she asks.<\/p>\n Serna shares mixed opinions, explaining that she likes the convenience of being able to get her workout in even if the date doesn\u2019t go well. And she says the gym has sparked romance for her before.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve met three of my ex-boyfriends, one of them being my ex-husband, at the gym,\u201d she explains. \u201cI think it\u2019s just because you\u2019re there almost every single day, usually at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n She says that she recently went on a few conventional dinner dates, which \u201cwere such a waste of time.\u201d So, she decided to give another gym date a try.<\/p>\n Serna notes that she hopes the gym date<\/a> will lead to a fancier date if the first meeting goes well.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m going to be at the gym anyways, so he\u2019s not wasting my time. Because even if I don\u2019t like him, I\u2019m still getting my workout in,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n What Do Women Really Think Of Gym Dates?<\/p>\n While Serna doesn\u2019t mind meeting up at the gym<\/a> for the first time, other women have vastly different opinions. On the r\/NoStupidQuestions<\/a> subreddit, one man asked for their opinions before asking a woman to work out and get smoothies as their first date.<\/p>\n \u201cI wouldn\u2019t consider this a date but just hanging out. but its nice is someone just wants an extra reason to hangout,\u201d one suggested.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m kinda split. Like\u2026 on one hand, it\u2019s cute if we\u2019re both into fitness. You get to bond over sweat, hype each other up, maybe laugh through the pain of leg day together,\u201d another wrote. \u201cThat can be fun, right? But if it\u2019s a first date? Ehhh, I dunno.\u201d<\/p>\n However, others are completely against it.<\/p>\n \u201cNope. I\u2019m a fitness instructor and workout every day. I enjoy it. It\u2019s not an activity to do on a first date. Kind of like the movies. I love going to the movies but it\u2019s not a great first date,\u201d she told the poster.<\/p>\n A second remarked, \u201cAbsolutely f\u2014 not lmao like what even is that?? Find someone at the gym if that\u2019s what you\u2019re wanting but like obviously red flags if you can\u2019t find someone at the gym you go to and you need to like negotiate a shared experience that you don\u2019t have to pay for.\u201d<\/p>\n How Did Her Gym Date Go?<\/p>\n While Serna was initially optimistic, the gym<\/a> date unfortunately didn\u2019t work out as planned.<\/p>\n
