Singer Marc Anthony has declined to be drawn into reports of a rift within the Beckham family, saying the way the story is unfolding publicly is “hardly the truth”.<\/p>\n

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Anthony said: “I have nothing to say about what’s happening with the family. They\u2019re a wonderful, wonderful family. I\u2019ve known them since before the kids were born.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m godfather to Cruz. I\u2019m really close to the family. But I have nothing to say about what happened there.”<\/p>\n

He added: “It\u2019s extremely unfortunate how it\u2019s playing out, but [how it\u2019s playing out] is hardly the truth.”<\/p>\n

The comments come after Brooklyn Beckham posted a statement on social media last month alleging longstanding tensions with his parents<\/a>, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, and saying he did not want reconciliation.<\/p>\n

He also claimed his parents had “controlled narratives in the press” about the family.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn also made claims about a moment during his wedding to Nicola Peltz Beckham in 2022, saying: “My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance\u2026”<\/p>\n

He added: “I\u2019ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”<\/p>\n

A day after Brooklyn\u2019s post, David Beckham spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos<\/a> and, while not addressing the allegations directly, said: “They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That\u2019s how they learn.”<\/p>\n

The wedding incident has since been discussed publicly by DJ Fat Tony<\/a>, who also performed at Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding.<\/p>\n

He described the moment as “really awkward” and said the issue, in his view, was the timing rather than the dancing itself.<\/p>\n
